Built in Art Nouveau style according to the plans of the Munich court building councilor Eugen Drollinger and consecrated in 1908, the church is unique in Lower Franconia. In terms of architecture and furnishings, the Christ Church is modeled on the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem. It was renovated in style in 1990; the white sandstone used comes from a quarry on the neighboring Fondsberg.
